Meet Lou

Our rescues mean a lot to the vet staff and DunRoamin' volunteers. We do everything we can to find the perfect homes for these pets, who are being given a second chance at a happy life. The application process requires pre-adoption applications, references, and interviews with you and those listed on your application in order to ensure a successful placement. If you are interested in learning more about the pet listed, please complete an application at https://form.jotform.com/60793520585259 and a representative will be in touch!

Lou came to DunRoamin' on December 7, 2022 from Perth-Andover, NB, where he had been a stray who had been hanging around the area for quite some time. He was not in good shape.

Lou appears to have been born around December 8, 2012, so is approximately ten years old - maybe more. He was very skinny and his ears were full of ear mite debris which may have made it difficult for him to hear. He is receiving medication to rectify that. He was dehydrated, had ropey intestines, was very skinny, has a heart murmur, minor tartar on his teeth, and his left hip has a poor range of motion, perhaps due to an old injury that was never treated. Lou was already neutered, so probably belonged to someone at some point, although his body condition seems to say he's been on his own for quite some time - maybe even years.

Lou is a sweet boy who is very grateful to be warm, safe and have a full belly. He has been sleeping most of his time with us so far and we hope he will gain strength and health again soon. We are all grateful to the lady who brought him for help. Donations for his care are gratefully accepted - he deserves the best life possible now, and that's what we hope to give him. We hope to make this his very best Christmas yet.
