Lois, a glorious and fluffy tortoiseshell, was born around May 2023 and was taken in by the shelter along with her two sisters after being found in a colony of cats in Laval. Tortoiseshell cats are known for their strong personalities, and Lois is no exception. Describing Lois's personality is not an easy task; the first word that comes to mind is... quirky! It took her time to get used to human presence, but play was the catalyst that brought her out of her shell. Lois is indeed highly motivated by play, much more so than by food. She loves scratches, especially at the base of her tail and her cheek. Very observant, she enjoys being near humans to see what they're up to, but she's not a lap cat. Even during her beloved cuddle moments, she keeps her distance, as she's still hesitant to be vulnerable with humans. Her adopter must be prepared to accept that she may never reach a level of total trust and that she might always be a bit on guard. Lois is making progress day by day, becoming more communicative and seeking cuddles multiple times a day. She prefers to approach humans on her terms, but she's slowly starting to accept the opposite. Patience and perseverance are crucial with her. She loves being brushed, and with a bit of luck, it's possible to trim a nail or two. However, holding her for more than half a second is not yet possible. Lois wouldn't be a good fit for an environment with young children. She greatly enjoys the company of other cats. Lois is a kitten so the adoption fees for her are $340. She is sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped. She is not tested for the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) or for the feline leukaemia virus (FeLV) but her sister Lana is negative for both viruses. Health insurances are offered for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the help of the adoption team as long as you need it. You will also have access to a free 30 minutes video consultation within the first month following adoption with our cat behaviour consultant FelineGood ( https://www.felinegood.ca ).
