Meet Lilah
We took Lilah off of the street on March 1st, after she endured frigid, windy 21-degree weather the night before. We had seen her out in front of a big house a few times with food thrown on the ground and wet, dirty blankets to lay on, and soon after, we moved to action to get her to warmth and safety.
Lilah was so, so grateful to get off of the streets and to be inside. We quickly found her a foster home and a few weeks after that, an adopter.
The day before she was set to be adopted, we had the foster home prepare her to go to our vet to be spayed. As soon as we saw her, we were shocked--she was visibly pregnant, and had grown exponentially during those 3 weeks in foster care. So the plan changed from getting her adopted to finding another foster home to let her give birth.
On April 16th, Lilah welcomed four beautiful female kittens, who all looked exactly like her. Unfortunately, one was stillborn, but the other three went on to grow big, strong, and super sweet, and now it's time for Lilah to, once again, get a furever home of her own.
She has become a lot sweeter since becoming a mother, and she is very good with her babies, so she could be adopted with one of them, or she could be adopted alone. Prior to her pregnancy ordeal, she was good with other cats from what we observed, so it's hard to say what kind of home would suit her best. But she is super adaptable, easy going, and still ever grateful.
Our vet estimated her to be around 2-2.5 years old.
The past several months have been life changing for this lovely lady. Let's keep that goodwill going and get her into a permanent, loving home this month!
