The virus causes a weakened immune system (and is not a form of cancer) and while FeLVies have a shorter lifespan, they have the same quality of life and are purrfectly adoptable! To keep them healthy; protect them from stress, feed a high quality diet, keep them safe indoors and address health problems as they arrise. Adoption fees are waived and CARE provides ongoing medical care for conditions related to the virus. A CARE adoption counselor can help answer any questions you may have.
