Meet Jude

Hey Jude, please help us welcome him to the Scruffy Paws family! Jude is a 6-month-old, short-haired, white tabby kitty whose superpower is Kitten Energy! He loves his plastic spring toys and will play with them for hours. Jude enjoys sprinting through blanket forts and is an excellent wildlife watcher. He dutifully rests in his cat tower to keep a watchful eye on all things squirrely and chirpy. He will lay on your lap with a blanket, of course. Jude is a chatty kitty, so be prepared for loads of kitten conversations. He loves being around the cats in his foster home - especially his big foster bro, Buca - Jude follows him everywhere! Jude can be shy sometimes, and having another friendly, confident cat in the home will help him continue to blossom. He is terrific with older, respectful children and has not been around dogs.

Jude continues to be a work in progress and has learned quickly that not all humans are bad. For those of you who need to become more familiar with Jude's story, let me fill you in on his journey to Scruffy. In December, Scruffy received word from Providence Animal Control regarding a Pampers box filled with cats abandoned near a dumpster. Yes, it's as heartbreaking as it sounds. Luckily, these five beautiful babies were taken to Scruffy Paws and received all the necessary veterinary care...and love to help them acclimate to their new surroundings. They arrived scared and unsure of all these humans trying to help them. But with lots of love, patience, treats, toys, and amazing foster families, they are becoming the silliest, most playful little furballs of adorableness. Hey Jude, not all humans are bad, so we will take this sad story and make it better. Won't you let Jude into your heart?

Thank you for being so interested in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! If you see this post, we still accept applications for this cat(s)/kitten(s). Please refrain from emailing us regarding availability.

All adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies, and distemper vaccinations, proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing, flea treatment, deworming, and an exam by a licensed veterinarian.

Our shelter hours are by appointment only and are not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are located in foster homes. An adoption application MUST be submitted and approved before meeting our cats/kittens. We do this for the safety of our fosters and potential adopters.

Our adoption process includes the following:

1. Adoption Application
To be considered for this cat(s) or kitten(s), you MUST complete an adoption application:
- Through our website (preferred) at www.scruffypawsanimalrescue.org/
- Email a copy to scruffypawsanimalrescue@gmail.com
- Drop off a hard copy to either of our partner PetSmart locations (Johnston or North Smithfield)
- Mail a hard copy to Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue at 2944 Post Rd. Warwick, RI 02886

2. Veterinary Reference
Please call your vet beforehand to give permission to release records to our adoption team. Out-of-state adoptions typically require an exceptional veterinary reference and are at the discretion of our adoption team.

3. Proof of Home Ownership OR Landlord Approval
The landlord's contact information must be provided if renting so our adoption team can seek approval.

4. Home Visit
Please make sure you are located in our vicinity. We are based out of Warwick, RI. Due to COVID-19, we are currently doing virtual home visits until further notice.

**Please note: Our volunteers try their hardest to contact every applicant in a timely manner but are often overwhelmed with a high volume of applications. Please allow up to two weeks for a response. Please be considerate and refrain from sending multiple follow-up emails or submitting duplicate applications.
