Hot Chocolate Domestic Short Hair Mokena, IL

Introducing Hot Chocolate! She is a 4 1/2 year old female tabby that was adopted from us previously, but through no fault of her own was recently relinquished back to us. We could tell she was upset and nervous at first being back at our rescue. Although she improved with time and started to enjoy our attention, she was a bit sassy at times - perhaps due to boredom or frustration with no longer being in a home. Recently, we placed Hot Chocolate in one of our wonderful foster homes, and her entire demeanor has changed. This is what she wanted all along.....to be in a home.

According to her foster, Hot Chocolate greets her by rubbing on her legs and with a sweet meow. If she doesn’t give her a full greeting, Hot Chocolate will run after her looking for more attention. She gets playful bursts of energy and loves to run after toys. She even sleeps in bed with her foster, snuggled by her shoulder and head.

Hot Chocolate is one of those cats that knows what she wants. When she first arrived at her foster home, she was outgoing, but would give a cue when she did not want to be touched. After only a short period of time, she let her guard down and started welcoming more head rubs and chin scratches. Now she only periodically shows a bit of sass, but it is non-threatening - she is just showing her preferences. According to her foster, her outgoing personality more than makes up for her diva side. If you let her go at her pace, you will find Hot Chocolate is very lovable and affectionate. She enjoys being near people and will often sit by her foster’s side, making biscuits to show her contentment.
Hot Chocolate dreams about finding an adopter that will understand she may need a little time to adjust and feel comfortable in a new home. Once she does, she will be a devoted companion forever.
