Meet Gus
Gus and Gracie are 4y/o siblings. Their momma Jean passed away in January after a valiant fight with cancer. She trapped these two as stray kittens. They are very sweet, loving and playful cats - they were the light of Jean's life, as she was theirs. I was hired to come to the home for monthly nail trims. Initially, they were shy but with treats and patience, we all became great friends! Last Sunday I went to the house for nail trims and was informed that Gus was having difficulty urinating. I took him to the new urgent care vet in Middletown and they performed surgery to clear his urethral obstruction and he's now on a prescription diet to help dissolve any remaining crystals he may have and he's doing great!
Jean left her chemotherapy treatment to pick up Gus from the vet and went back to chemo, only to be transferred to the hospital. Sadly, she never got to see her furry family again.
Gus and Gracie now need new family, new homes. They initially will act shy but when they’re comfortable, their true personalities shine!
Gus is a hunk of burning love. He loves to be petted and brushed and just like his sister, he will roll upside down and will actually let you scratch and pet his belly- allllll of it! He’s kind of shameless with his loving - constant head butts and cheek marking and he has the most adorable squeaky purr!!
Gracie is a sweet, gentle Queen with a lot of pride & a playful side! She loves to be petted & brushed - rolling in her catnip toys and hunting her wand toy. She normally sits atop her comfy cat tree but her ego has taken a hit, so she’s often hiding in the cat room at Baxter Ave Feeders Supply store. She just needs someone to tell her how beautiful she is (her eyes!!) and give her some wet food she’ll come out of her safe space slowly but surely!
