Meet Fox and Ruby
Ruby and Fox are a gorgeous, sweet-natured pair of sisters with an incredible story.
When Ruby was just a kitten, she was so sick that the shelter which had found her was sure she would be dead by morning. But they called Rocket Cat Rescue–RCR had pulled off miracles before. With RCR’s constant care, Ruby hung on to life, but she couldn’t seem to recover. Then, by chance, the shelter caught Ruby’s sister. Fox was also struggling to survive, and RCR picked her up right away. As soon as the sisters were reunited, they began to recover.
Ruby and Fox are 14 months old now, and inseparable. Their love for each other is so clear, whether they’re fiercely play-wrestling or just lounging around together. Both cats are healthy, but their hard beginning left a mark: Ruby is blind in one eye; Fox lost an eye and has limited vision in the other. They are still just as playful and happy as any other young cats—Fox gets around well, and Ruby has no difficulties at all. Both girls grew up beautiful: Ruby has vivid colors and the most gorgeous poofy tail, but her real claim to fame is her amazingly long whiskers. Fox is a sleek torbie (tortoiseshell-tabby, a rare color), with an elegant tuxedo.
Other than each other, their #1 favorite thing is FOOD—maybe someone out there has some tasty treats they want to share? Ruby is super affectionate once she knows she can trust you, and she LOVES to be petted. Top of her wishlist for a forever family would be someone who needs a purring lap warmer, because she is ready to fill that position! Fox likes to supervise: she is a dedicated people watcher and shows her love by settling into a tidy loaf position near you. She is more reserved than her sister, especially with new people, but you can tell when you become one of her favorites because she will walk by ALMOST out of reach—playing hard to get so you really have to work for those pets.
Both girls are quiet, great with other cats, and would do well with a respectful dog or kid. This inseparable pair will only be adopted out together.
