Ebenezer was left on a rural property along with 7 other kitties. The new owners discovered these sad, sickly (and in Eb’s case, injured) kitties when they arrived.

We didn’t know if they were friendly. They had to be live-trapped and brought to our vet for treatment. Ebenezer had a an injury to his ear; you can see him in the live-trap upon arrival. He was so unhappy.

He was vetted and his wound cleaned. He went to a foster home where he hung out in a big cage for about a week. At first he was very angry and hissy. He slapped at anything that got near his cage. He finally started to feel better, relax, and realize this crazy lady is actually nice to me! Maybe I won’t hate her!

When he got to explore the foster room with the other kitties, he walked right in like he had always been there. He had no issues with any of the other kitties, some of whom were from the same farm.

His foster mom has taken things very slowly with him. It was clear he had not been handled or loved on so she has not forced anything on him. She has slowed him to come to her for affection. He has discovered he likes pets on his head and he will walk up to her and head boop her leg with his head.

We encourage only savvy cat people to consider Ebenezer. He will need to make progress on his own schedule. You can’t force him but if you let him come to you, he will. He wants to be loved and we think will be a wonderful house kitty and companion. He is done with the hard life outside with no love or affection.

Eb likes other kitties. He likes to look out the window but has no desire to go out. We think he will eventually be a snuggler once he feels safe and at ease. Can you give this big ol’ retired tom the home of his dreams?

Inside-only home and must keep claws. The adoption fee for this kitty is $100. Adopt a pair of kitties for $150. Each cat and kitten has been: altered (spayed/neutered), vaccinated (age-appropriate) - rabies and distemper combo, microchipped, tested for FeLV (negative unless previously noted), and treated for fleas, ear mites, and worms.
