Chibi and Umasou American Shorthair Suisun City, CA

Chibi and Umasou—two sweet sisters who protect each other.

These absolutely gorgeous orangies have lived together all their lives, and are inseparable. Umasou is confident and affectionate; she protects shy Chibi and helps her to see that the world isn’t so scary. Chibi looks to Umasou to guide her and show her what to do. They love each other so much; it’s so sweet to see them snuggled up together. They love to cuddle each other, especially on top of a tall cat tree, where they can watch everything go by beneath them with interest. They are so sleek and elegant that they look like ancient Egyptian goddesses surveying their domain.

These girls are both sweet with people once they get to know you. Umasou gets excited for pets and scritches, whereas Chibi is unsure at first, but once you start petting her she remembers how good it feels and absolutely loves it. Umasou has an adorable fondness for climbing under the blankets to sleep there with you at night.

They are low-key cats who don’t play very much, although they do enjoy cat trees and scratching posts. You’ll barely hear a peep out of these girls—they are both very quiet. They are doing well in the rescue right now with lots of other cats around, but could also be happy as the only cats in their home. Umasou warms up fairly quickly to kids; Chibi usually hides, but would likely learn to relax with a kind, patient, cat-savvy child. Neither sister is a fan of dogs, and would be happiest in a home without one.

Umasou (more white) and Chibi (more orange) are only a year old. They came to the rescue from the county shelter when they were just kittens; they were sickly and not thriving. In a home environment with all the love we could give they absolutely blossomed; they are healthy, but do occasionally have a bit of red eye discharge that can be wiped off. Both girls are spayed and up to date on their vaccinations. They are so bonded that we would never separate them; these gorgeous girls are a package deal!
