Meet Buttercup
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Buttercup and her sisters Blossom and Bubbles were brought to the rescue when they were just 2 days old. Mom had abandoned them right after giving birth so they needed round-the-clock care as they were very dehydrated and skinny when they came in. One of our staff members took them home to try and save their lives and was successful with all three. Buttercup is a bobtail and she does have a slight form of Manx syndrome which means she needs an owner who is experienced with this breed. She is a very cuddly kitten who loves attention and affection from anybody she meets. She loves to groom the people she meets so she will lick your hair to show her love. You can also hold her like a baby and give her belly scratches, She also loves to give kisses on faces and fingers when she's really happy.
Manx are a famously tailless breed of cat. While a lack of tail is their identifying feature (although some Manx cats have short tails and some actually have completely normal ones!), it is important to also recognize that this comes hand in hand with some health and welfare issues that are over-represented in the breed.
This does not mean that all Manx cats will get these health issues, but it does mean that they are more likely to get them than your average cat which is why it is important to educate yourself as an owner. Buttercup does have gastro issues related to her manx syndrome so she goes between hard and soft stool so she needs someone that is aware of these and knows how to medicate her as her stool varies.
