Hi Everyone,
My name is Brewer. I am 2 years old. I came to rescue on a cold night in January. I have a very sad story. I thought I had an owner that loved me. They even moved me up from another state. When we got to Michigan we found out I wasn’t allowed to be inside the apartment. My person thought it would be okay if I would just stay outside for a couple days until something was figured out but I was so cold. I didn’t know where to go and the temps were getting lower. At times my paw pads felt like they were freezing to the ground and then sometimes I just couldn’t feel them at all. I kept asking people for help but no one would help me. Finally after 4 agonizing days someone came looking for me. Word got around and rescue was coming. Fast forward I’m finally at my foster home. So the first day I met my foster mom I kissed her. Smack on the lips. I didn’t care I was so thankful. She told me everything is gonna be okay and I believe her. My tears were frozen to my face and in my lungs. I sought my emotional support catnip pickle for comfort.

My Foster mom took me to get fixed and when we got back she was very sad. They told her I had this thing called FIV. I gave her a big hug and told her not to be sad for I am tough and strong and I know I have a long life ahead of me. You see FIV really just means my immune system maybe slightly lowered. I can only transfer it to other kitties thru blood which means I’d have to bite them. My foster mom found out that I actually like playing with other kitties my age or younger as long as they are nice to me. I also love sitting with her and giving hugs and kisses. I love playing with cat nip toys and this ball spinner toy or just batting a ball around the floor. I’m looking for a home with low cats or none. I actually don’t mind dogs either and I’m trying out this leash walking thing so I can go outside. I know it will take a special family to love me but I’m willing to wait. Brewer does have feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). Many people often turn away from a cat with FIV because they do not understanding it. FIV cats live normal healthy lives and can co-exist with other cats. FIV is NOT contagious to humans or other animals and is not easily transmitted between cats. Therefore most cats with FIV can live happily with one or two other cats and never spread their virus. Unfortunately many people miss out on a great cat because they are the most affectionate and loving kitties that you will ever find. Brewer knows one day he will find a family to call his own.

Our cat/kitten is spayed / neutered, current on vaccinations, have tested negative on the combo test, on flea prevention and have been dewormed.

Our cat/kitten adoption fee is $75.00 (cash or credit card).

HOW TO MEET: This sweetheart may be at the Livonia PetSmart on Saturdays from 11-3. Come up and meet this cutie and/or other cats/kittens. The Livonia PetSmart is located at South East corner of Middlebelt and I-96 at 13150 Middlebelt Rd Livonia, MI 48150. It is located in the back of the Meijer and Costco Parking lot. Our pets are in the back-right hand side of the store past the grooming and vet clinic.

WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE ANIMAL YOU ARE INTERESTED IN WILL BE AT THE ADOPTION EVENT. Please email us if there is a specific kitten/cat you would like to meet to be sure they will be at the adoption event. We ask that you DO NOT contact PetSmart about our animals. They are kind enough to provide space for our adoption events, but are not involved with our rescue work.

IMPORTANT: An application must be filled out and approved before we will make special arrangements to meet a cat/kitten. A volunteer will review your application and contact you if your application is approved or if further clarification is required. We will make every attempt to contact APPROVED applicants within 5 business days of application submission (M-F), but this will depend on the number of applications received. If you do not answer all questions then your application may not be processed. WAG Animal Rescue adopts to homes that are best fits for our animals' needs, and not on a first-come, first-served basis. We are an all-volunteer organization, and regret that we do not have the resources to contact applicants that are not approved. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER. All of our animals are kept in foster homes.
