Meet Bootsie

UPDATE 03/09/2024
Bootsie sure is enjoying being in a home. She’s a completely different cat than she was at the shelter — talkative, energetic, playful, very affectionate! I really hope she gets adopted before the shelter reopens as I’m worried she’ll shut back down. Oh, and her fur looks pretty good too, still slightly bald, but growing back!
=====================================================================

Animals react differently when returned to a shelter. Some adapt quickly and aren’t phased, some struggle, and some, really struggle. Meet Bootsie, a 4-1/2-year-old beautiful black cat who was returned to P.A.W.S. after being in a home for 3-1/2 years due to her family moving, and she has been struggling to adapt back to shelter life ever since. You’ll see that Bootsie is looking a little bare towards her back and it has progressively gotten worse since she came back to us this past May. Bootsie is sweet and loving and affectionate, but she hyper grooms herself (or over grooms) due to how stressed she is sitting in a cage, surrounded by cats that she’s not particularly fond of, wondering what she did wrong that she’s back Bootsie would love a new home to call her own where she can stretch all day and roam around and nap wherever she pleases. We want to see Bootsie’s beautiful black fur full and shiny again like she was when she first came back to us. Won’t someone even come look at this sweet Angel and consider giving her that safe feeling of being in a home, feeling secure, and loved again?
