Cross posting for our local shelter. We would love to find poor Benny another foster or a permanent home. His current foster has personal issues and needs to find another option for him.

Looking to make a difference and be a hero in 2024? We met Benny in August 2023 where he was picked up as a stray when the neighborhood noticed he was outside with a vision issue. This poor cat must have been in a lot of pain yet allowed us to help him. His eye was swollen and we are shocked it had not ruptured yet. We knew he would need an eye removal and hoped the cloudy 2nd eye would have vision and be ok. Unfortunately due to lens shifting and glaucoma, we learned the 2nd eye would need to be removed and so he had to undergo another procedure and this poor cat was now completely blind and homeless. We did learn he had a home at one point but his owners could not afford any medical for him so his condition worsened over time. They also could not keep him inside so allowing a blind cat to go outside was not an option. Benny has been in a foster home since August and it is time for him to find his “fur”ever home. He seems to be ok around other cats, is curious and loves his wand toy and spring toys. We do not feel putting him in a cage at the shelter is fair and we don’t want him to be afraid or react each time a cage door opens. We would love to find someone who has blind cat experience and time and patience to let him blossom. It is incredible how he gets around, jumps on the couch, and plays. He deserves a new beginning and chance, but we need help finding that special someone. Benny is all up to date on vaccines and neutered.
