Meet Bellatrix!

Bellatrix had a rough start to life before she came to HART. She was found living under a porch by a kind stranger. They noticed she was limping on one of her back legs and called us for help. When her foster mom took her to the vet, they found that she had a broken pelvis. She had to be confined for 8 weeks so that she would have a chance at healing. Bellatrix did not love being confined because she just wanted to be with all the people! A recent x-ray (3/24) showed that the hip joint looks just as it should! She even surprised the vet with how well she had healed. The x-ray did show some signs of arthritis starting in the joint, it doesn't seem to cause her any discomfort at this point but it may be something to watch in the future.

Despite everything, Bellatrix is a very friendly and confident cat! She has a big personality and is not afraid of new people. She gets along well with the resident cats and doesn’t mind the large dog that lives with them.

Bellatrix is a typical tortie and has a classic “tortitude”. She purrs easily, will meow at you when she wants something, and can change her mind in an instant.

She would do well with someone familiar with torties and their unique personality traits. Bellatrix would love a family that will allow her to sleep in bed with them. She is a very polite sleeper and will stay at the foot of your bed. Bellatrix has an estimated birthdate of 3/25/23.
