Izzy and Bellarina are sisters. They were born around March 2013. We took them in July 2013 when they were still kittens. They came from a farm in the Waterloo, Iowa area. They were adopted in Jan. 2014. Their owners recently moved and couldn't take thew with them. So they are WPR kitties again and living in a foster home. They are up to date on shots, tested FeLV / FIV negative, and spayed.

Izzy and Bellarina are very bonded to each other and it is required that they get adopted into the same home. They do look a lot alike. But once you get to know them, it is easy to tell who is who. Also, Izzy is lighter colored and Bellarina is darker. They both love to play, especially with feather wands.

Izzy and Bellarina will be 4 years old March 2017. Owners said they actually didn't interact with them very much. They spent a lot of time hiding. When we first got them back, they were so scared. Izzy would only hide under a blanket and Bellarina did a lot of hissing at us. Within 3 days, both were seeking us out for attention. Made my heart melt to have them trust us so quickly. My feeling is the previous adopters had dogs, maybe very active dogs that would chase them whenever Izzy and Bellarina would try to get attention. So they just learned to stay hidden and the adopters either didn't notice it was the dogs or didn't try very hard to help everyone adjust. So I am truly happy they moved because these 2 are total sweethearts and deserve a total cat loving home. So we want to find them a home with no dogs. They do ok with other cats if introduced properly and given time to adjust. Both kitties are ok with me holding them now. Izzy likes it most. Bellerina is a little uncomfortable at first, but then settles in. They both do well with my cat loving daughters, ages 10 and 12. My daughters understand cats and know to let the cat come to you, do not chase them to pet them.

Izzy is very affectionate. She will lick your fingers. She will nuzzle her head all over your hand and your face. When you are petting her, she will roll to her side and encourage you to pet her all over. She purrs all the time. She is quiet and doesn't meow very often. She is a gentle soul and happy. She is not demanding of attention but welcomes it when you can give it to her. She still hides at times when she is unsure, but that is getting better every day. And she still loves to burrow under a blanket and stay there. It seems to be her safe place and what she is used to. So if you can't find her, look for the lump under a blanket!

Bellarina is not as outgoing as Izzy, but still just as sweet. Once she knows she can trust you, she will come to you for petting. She likes her head, her chin and back rubbed. She is also very quiet and doesn't meow very often. You can totally tell she is very grateful for love and kindness. When her big eyes look at me, I can tell she is happy to be in my home. Bellarina has not growled or hissed at me since the very beginning when she got here. She did it because she was scared. It is possible to will start off that way in a new home. What you will want to do is start them both off in a room alone. Give them space and time. I promise they will come around and bond with you too.

Will someone please adopt Izzy and Bellarina and give them a true forever home? $95.00 each adoption fee for a total of $190 for both cats.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $200 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
