Meet Bartholomew/Looking for a barn cat position

Two-year-old Bartholomew is looking for a position as a barn cat. This handsome guy was found as a stray, so we know nothing about his past. He is a confident guy who knows what he wants. He is not afraid to let you know when he doesn't want to be patted, which we're finding to be pretty often. He is not unfriendly, but he likes everything to be on his own terms. He enjoys watching the birds outside the window and lounging around, but he will also take a swipe at you when he feels like it. We think he would be happier if he weren't an indoor-only pet. He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his vet care. Barn cats need shelter, food, water, and ongoing care. In exchange, they provide rodent control. Bartholomew will need to be confined in a tack room or other space for the first 4 weeks to acclimate to his new home, caretakers, and feeding routine. If you have a barn that needs a barn cat, we would love to introduce you to him.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application here: medfieldshelter.com/adopt

Our cats are typically adopted quickly, and we receive many applications for each one, so if you are ready to adopt, please fill out the adoption application.

If a cat is listed on our website, they are still available for adoption, but there may be applications received ahead of yours.

All adoption meetings are by appointment only. Our adoption fee for cats seven months – 2 years is $250, 3 years to 10 years is $200. Senior cats over 11 years are $125. The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, microchip, testing for FeLV and FIV, and spaying/neutering.
