Arwen came to us back in May of 2021 - she was live trapped with some kittens and was undersocialized and needed time to warm up to humans. She has had a foster home commit to working with her and has come so far in the last year and a half. Arwen is 3-4 years old.
From her foster:
Arwen needs to earn trust and she needs to feel safe, but once she does, she's lovely. She loves to play on me while we watch TV and her slow pets. She still hasn't warned up to any of the other animals but Bosley (another cat,) but she typically tolerates them and just stays away unless they start something.
She is going to needs lots of places to scratch and she's picky about food and treats. She likes to be brushed and needs to be brushed frequently in short sessions so she doesn't get overstimulated. Anyone willing to give her a chance to settle in at her own pace won't be sorry.

Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.
Sometimes there is more that comes out about an animals personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
