Meet Alissia (friendly)

**CT residents only**

Alissia is a 3-4 year old kitty who came to BCC extremely pregnant last fall, having sustained some unknown trauma to her face after living in a cat colony for some time. She gave birth to seven kittens in foster care who have since grown up and been adopted. Now it’s her turn to find her forever home!

Everyone who meets Alissia is amazed by how affectionate she is, even with total strangers. She adores being scratched all over her head (though beware of the belly because, as tempting as it may be, it’s a trap!) and she will often rub her head against you when she wants attention. She’s not exactly a lap cat, but that doesn’t mean she won’t sleep in bed with you or ask for attention at any given time. She spends most of the day lounging in sunny spots, but in the evening she often gets bursts of energy and will zoom all over the apartment.

Due to the trauma that she experienced before coming into rescue, Alissia had one eye removed and her teeth/gums will be exposed on one side of her face for the rest of her life. She also has a collapsed sinus on the same side of her face. She has seen a veterinary specialist and does not require any special care for her injuries at this time — just know that her sinus situation has earned her the nickname “Snorts”! Alissia frequently makes funny snorting sounds and occasionally sounds a bit like Darth Vader when she breathes, but it doesn’t seem to have impacted her quality of life one bit.

Alissia would be happy as a solo cat, or potentially with another adult cat who is very friendly. She has spent some time with other cats in foster care and while she herself did not have any issues with them, one of the other cats seemed to be intimidated by her exposed teeth. It would be best for Alissia to go to a home WITHOUT small children because she is not shy about setting boundaries (see my comment about belly scratches!). If you have questions about whether Alissia might be a good fit for your household, please feel free to leave a comment or reach out to her current foster on Instagram or Facebook @fantasticfosterfelines.

Alissia has been through a lot in her life and she’s so ready for a long and happy retirement!
