Pupa Parrot Macaw Battle Creek , MI

Pupa is a 21 year old Blue and Gold Macaw who is pretty laid back and sweet.  We’re told she prefers men, as her daddy was her caretaker and she always preferred him.  That said, she’s very sweet and laid back to most everyone here at the rescue.  She’s used to being manhandled a bit to handle her, and we prefer not to do that when its not necessary so the right person will be willing to work with her to help her learn to step up productively to spend time with her humans.  

At one point in her past life she had a broken wing, but it was appropriately handled and she was vetted and she’s healed. She does pluck her feathers and that started in the previous few years before she was surrendered.

If you’re interested in adopting Pupa (Pooh-pah - Lithuanian for Baby) put your application in at www.birdsandbeaks.org/adopt We have an adoption radius of 350 miles of Battle Creek, Michigan but will expand for the right homes.  We never ship birds, and if you’re out side that radius, the contract you sign will require you to bring her back to the rescue at your expense if for any reason it doesn’t work out.

No matter who you adopt from, know that no rescue is shipping birds that is reputable, and that anyone who says they’ll ship you a bird is likely telling you whatever you need to hear to scam you.  Don’t send money over the internet for animals.  Meet in person or not at all. Stay safe!
