The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County was established in 1969 primarily because of the conditions existing at the Trumbull County Dog Pound. The Animal Shelter was established in August of 1984 when we purchased an old boarding kennel. Since then we have done extensive renovating.
We are a non-profit humane organization and are a 501-C-3 charity. We exist solely because of our Members, Contributors, Fundraisers and of course our wonderful volunteers.
We also established an Emergency Rescue Team in 1980 to respond to animal emergencies 24 hours a day seven days a week for all species of animals.
We investigate over 400 animal abuse cases each year and prosecute those individuals who break the law.
