We always have great cats and dogs for adoption!
The adoption fee is only $25.00! Currently, the Sheanandoah Valley Spay/Neuter Clinic, located in Harrisonburg, VA is providing FREE spay/neuters and rabies shots for all animals adopted from the Center. ALL ANIMALS ADOPTED MUST BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED.
The Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center opened on Sept.1, 2011 to house stray and unwanted animals in Augusta County and the Cities of Staunton and Waynesboro.
We are a municiple shelter that is run by Augusta, Staunton and Waynesboro. For Animal Control services, please contact the locality in which you reside.
We are an "open-admission" shelter which means that no animal in need is ever turned away. We take in all strays and animals that are released by their owners. Stray animals are held for a mandatory holding period to give their owners time to find them.
If you have a lost or missing pet, please check the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center website on a regular basis. Go to http://shenandoah.animalshelternet.com/ and use the Stray Search link. Photos and information are updated as animals are brought into the facility.
Stray animals that are not claimed by their owners are often made avalable for adoption, as are animals that are given up by thier owners.
The Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center strives to keep from euthanizing as many animals as possible by transferring to local and out of state rescue groups, as well as offering direct adoptions to the public.
We are open Mon-Saturday from 11am-4pm with extended hours on Wednesdays until 6:30 pm. We are closed on Sundays.
We are located at 1001 Mt. Torrey Rd in Lyndhurst, Va.
From Interstate 64 take Exit 96. Go 3.8 miles south on S. Delphine Avenue. South Delphine will turn into Mt. Torrey Rd. The Center will be on your right, just past Wilson Volunteer Fire Department.
