Adopting A Friend

Dogs and cats may be adopted from the Stafford County Animal Shelter located at 473 Eskimo Hill Road, 2 miles east of its intersection with Jefferson Davis Highway. 

There is a $20.00 adoption fee for dogs and a $10.00 adoption fee for cats, cash or check only. All puppies and kittens adopted from the shelter are given the first series of shots and are dewormed for round worms only. 

Who We Are

It is the purpose of the Animal Control Division to insure a safe coexistence between animals and people, to enforce the comprehensive animal laws of the commonwealth of Virginia and Stafford County, to humanely provide for the animals that come into our care at the pound and to educate the citizens of Stafford on proper care, bite prevention, rabies control and disaster preparedness.
