The Humane Society of Fairfax County, Inc. is a non-profit organization established in 1968 to rescue and protect animals, both domestic and wild, from cruel treatment, neglect or lack of care.
The Humane Society of Fairfax County has cats, kittens, and small animals available for adoption at the administrative offices located at 4057 Chain Bridge Rd. in Fairfax City. The adoption hours are from 11am to 3pm Monday through Saturday.

Our organization depends on dedicated volunteers to help with our many programs.
Working with animals is a very rewarding experience. Whether you have many hours to give or are available only on special occasions, we have an activity you can participate in. Some of our activities require several hours weekly and some a few hours a month. If your schedule is extremely heavy, we even have ways in which you can help us once or twice a year (e.g., fund-raising events). You can work with the animals or on their behalf
