News

CAPS can not believe the response it has gotten from its Petfinder page. We have made some great friendships through responses to the animals listed on our Petfinder page. We've been in the new shelter for a while and we and the animals love it !! The dogs are getting used to their inside/ouside kennels. It will take some time but they are getting used to a new routine. Everybody gets time in the play yards to stretch their legs. The cats are doing better than we could ever have imagined.

Who We Are

The Churchill Animal Protection Society (C.A.P.S.) is an incorporated, non-profit, tax exempt organization formed in May 1986. C.A.P.S.’ major goal is to find homes for the countless dogs and cats that have been abandoned, are born strays, or are no longer wanted by their families for a variety of reasons. To this end we keep dogs and cats for a long period of time, until a permanent home is found.

C.A.P.S.’ Animal Sponsorship Program is designed to provide animals with the financial support needed to lead a well cared for life while housed at C.A.P.S. The program is optimal for people who cannot own a pet, are not ready for the additional responsibilities of adopting a pet, or are simply animal lovers. We realize that some people are willing, but often unable to provide our four legged friends good, permanent homes. The program will give these individuals the opportunity to care for an animal until it is adopted.


 

Volunteering and Donations

We are always in need of caring animal lovers to help us in our quest to give the best loving care to our special cats and dogs. If you live in the area and would like to volunteer, please call or email us using the info below.

VOLUNTEER ROLES:

DOG WALKERS - get to walk the dogs and socialize with them. Walks last between 10-25 minutes and you can do it as often as you have time to including Saturdays.

CAT PETTERS - love snuggeling with a cat - this is the volutneer position for you! Pull up a chair and put in some petting time with some adorbale kitties.

TELEPHONES- got a friendly voice and want to help us handle our phone calls - we always need help trying to take all the calls, clean up and take care of the animals.
