Our Featured Pet...

The Humane Society of Taos, Stray Hearts Animals Shelter is located in the town of Taos, New Mexico. We are wholly dedicated to interim compassionate care and rehabilitation for lost and abandoned animals, upholding their rights for such, protecting animals from abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and placing them into responsible and loving homes. We are committed to animal population control and public education to ensure long-term positive management of the animal problems in our area.

Stray Hearts Animal Shelter follows the National Definition of a "no kill" shelter, which means we do not put down animals for the sake of making space, and we do everything possible to rehabilitate and find homes for all treatable and adoptable companion animals

As we continue to grow and evolve, Stray Hearts Animal Shelter of Taos will not only be a shelter for abandoned animals, but a community facility for many animal related programs and education opportunities.

We need the help of the whole community.

Everyone can do something - donate money or time and you will be rewarded in the knowledge that you've helped dogs and cats that could never make it without you.

Being part of this shelter reminds us all that responsibility isn't measured by how much you give, but by the action of giving at all.

Get involved now.

On behalf of all the animals, we thank you!
Stray Hearts Animal Shelter of Taos - We're getting better and having more happy endings all the time!
