This beautiful 3 year old pitbull mix is Loca. She was surrendered to the SPCA when her owner could no longer care for her. Like most pets dropped off at animal shelters and rescues, it is hard to see how Loca could be given up on. She is gentle, sweet, smart, silly, attentive, and affectionate. Her quirky personality is nothing less than endearing. This vibrant, lovely girl is playful and often enjoys spinning and leaping with delight when in high spirits.
Although quite friendly after warming-up to people, initially she is wary of strangers, especially men. She is better suited for a home with no other pets where she can soak-up all the attention she deserves while simultaneously receiving the structure and discipline she needs. Loca is a generally easygoing pup who would be just as content snuggling on the couch as she would be hurdling through the air like an acrobat.
Loca is truly special and whoever is so fortunate as to share a life with her will quickly see why she is so incredibly charming as she paws and kisses her way into everyone’s hearts. Loca’s temporary home is at the SPCA of Hancock County. She is spayed, housetrained, and vaccinated. Being the exceptional student she is, Loca is constantly learning new things and is quite obedient. If interested in Loca, please contact the SPCA to make an appointment to meet her.

WHO WE ARE
SPCA MISSION
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Hancock County is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and protecting animals. We do this through community education and outreach while providing comfort and care for the animals we shelter until they are placed in responsible and loving homes.
OUR RESPONSIBILITY :
Protect and provide shelter for the lost, abandoned and relinquished animals.
Provide adoption opportunities for all animals under our care.
Promote the care and well being of all living creatures through education.
Provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals and to encourage kindness toward animals.
Educate the public on pet overpopulation and proper animal care.
Campaign for all companion animals to be spayed and neutered.
Fund a low cost spay/neuter program with the cooperation of local veterinarians.
The SPCA can accept relinquished animals by appointment only.
ADOPTING A FRIEND
Potential guardians/owners must show that they will properly care for the adopted animal for their lifetime. Anyone interested in adopting from the SPCA must first meet the animal they are interested in adopting and complete an adoption application questionnaire which will then be reviewed by SPCA staff. The SPCA reserves the right to approve or deny any adoption application. All adoption fees assist with the animal care programs of the SPCA.
