WHO WE ARE

MHS was started on June 7th, 2004 with a handful of caring and supporting Volunteers that wanted to help reach out to homeless, neglected and abused animals. Our mission at Mass Humane Society is to help rescue animals, reduce pet overpopulation through loving adoptions, provide EFFECTIVE MEANS for THE PREVENTION of CRUELTY to ALL ANIMALS and THE HUMANE TREATMENT of ALL ANIMALS, low cost Spay/Neuter assistance, and to broaden clinic participation and develop educational information on these important issues. MHS promotes and educates the humane way to handle the Feral Cat population by the means of (TNR) Trap-Neuter-Return, about the importance of animal welfare, and the co-existing with wildlife because of the depletion of their habitats and environments in Massachusetts and other states.
Mass Humane Society is a section 501 (c) 3, non-profit, no-kill, Volunteer Work, private organization, therefore, we do not receive any Local, State or Federal funding. MHS depends solely on donations from it's supporters and the dedicated Volunteers. Mass Humane Society's biggest mission and goal became a REALITY on September 30th, 2006 - the MHS animal shelter opened. MHS is constantly and diligently rescuing and helping animals in need.
Mass Humane Society is looking for donations to achieve many more missions and goals that will BRING PEOPLE AND PETS TOGETHER!! Mass Humane Society is a short term and long term haven for all the animals that come to our Shelter. ** We Keep Until We Find ** If you would like to join our great team of MHS Volunteers in helping and caring for the animals, please contact us at 781-335-1300.
We greatly appreciate your SUPPORT !!

MHS "Private Adoption Program"
