Pets can be a wonderful addition to your life! If you are thinking about getting a pet, please consider saving the life of a homeless dog or cat by adopting a pet from our Adoption Center. All of our pets come complete with:

• A veterinary exam
• All necessary vaccinations
• Spaying/neutering
• Broward County pet registration tag
• Microchip

Adopting A Friend

Adopting a furry best friend as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Visit either of our Adoption Centers and select a dog or cat.
2. Complete an Adoption Application.
3. Pay your Adoption Fee.

Our standard adoption fee is $74.95 for dogs and cats. You must be at least 18 years old to adopt a pet with a picture identification, such as a valid driver's license.  Adopters outside of the Broward County area are welcome, but you must be present to complete your application and complete the adoption process.

Broward County Animal Care is one of South Florida's largest public Adoption Centers.

Our mission is to provide shelter for lost and surrendered animals and promote successful adoptions that enhance the lives of companion animals and their humans.

Come Visit Us

For your convenience we have two locations to serve you!

• Fort Lauderdale Adoption Center,1870 SW 39th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315.  The center is open for adoptions Tuesday through Friday from 1 to 6 p.m.  Also, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Pompano Beach Adoption Center, 3100 NW 19th Terrace, Pompano Beach, FL 33064. The center is open for adoptions Tuesday through Friday from 1 to 6 p.m.  Also, Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We also offer many of our cats for adoption at all Pet Supermarkets located in Broward County.
