The Rescue HouseOur Pet ListWho We AreThe Rescue House is a non-profit, Section 501(c)(3), volunteer-based organization dedicated to assisting cats through its rescue, foster and adoption activities. We find loving homes for unwanted, abandoned, homeless and abused cats. We open our arms to cats that need assistance, regardless of age and often regardless of handicap. We find good homes for every cat that we take in - we are a true no-kill cat rescue organization. Since our inception in 1999, we have found loving, caring homes for over 5,000 cats. We currently have 8 permanent adoption centers throughout San Diego, located in pet stores that work with us and share our philosophy. We have wonderful cats of all colors, shapes, sizes and ages. Each of our cats has had all their medical requirements tended to; we work with 7 veterinarians that ensure this. Each cat has been tested for feline leukemia, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and de-flead. The adoption fee assists us in covering these costs. Our senior cats have a full blood chemistry and, if needed, teeth cleaning done before entering one of our adoption centers. Adopting a friendAll the cats you see in our Adoption Centers are very special. They have been rescued from death, or from a life of hardship and abuse. While the first part of their life whether long or short, has been less than a perfect one, we will do our best to ensure that they will be loved, respected and well cared for, for the rest of their lives. We rescue cats of all sizes, ages, and colors and breeds - we do not discriminate. Every animal deserves a safe, loving home and we are doing all we can to ensure that this happens.
