Established in 1986, the Seal Beach Animal Care Center is a non-profit, pro-humane animal shelter committed to finding permanent, loving homes for all of the animals that come into our care. Our staff of dedicated volunteers ensures the animals are kept comfortable until they can be placed into new adoptive homes.

Adopting a Furry Friend
After you have become familiar with our furry residents online, we invite you to visit us at the Care Center for an inperson introduction. Our adoption fee of $120 for dogs and $160 for puppies includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, micro-chip and a no-slip collar. Our adoption fees of $95 for cats and $115 for kittens includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and testing for Felv and FIV. We maintain a numbered tag directory on all animals adopted from SBACC.
Volunteering and Donations
The first step toward becoming a volunteer is to attend a Volunteer Orientation Session. You must be at least 18 years old and these sessions are open to, and required of, all prospective volunteers. Dog Orientation sessions are conducted the first and third Saturdays, and Cat Orientation sessions are conducted the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at the Care Center beginning at 10:30am, and last approximately 1.5 hours. Dog Orientation Sessions are limited to eight people per class and you must register in advance. Cat Orientation Sessions are open to all who wish to participate and advance registration is not necessary. Please call in advance to confirm a session is being held.
The SBACC is a California non-profit 501-C3 Corporation #33-0192138. All donations made to the Care Center are tax deductible, with the largest share going directly toward the care of our animals.
