Mission

Animal Rescuers Without Borders, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which consists of a group of dedicated people who donate their time, resources, skills and energy toward the battle against the overpopulation of homeless pets and improving the lives of companion animals through rescue, fostering programs, adoption, pet care, educational programs and of course spaying and neutering.

Who We Are

The A.R.W.O.B. group is based in San Diego, CA and operates mostly in Mexico as well as Southern California and will come to the aid of any animal in need which crosses our path. Our belief is to do what we can in order to “Make a difference in their lives.” From experience we have observed and feel the companion animals of Mexico are in the greatest need and accordingly we focus much of our efforts in Baja, Mexico. However, we certainly extend our help to our north of the border critters by accepting relinquished family pets, exiting both dogs and cats from the shelters of San Diego and of course by working in conjunction with other animal rescue groups in the community.

The A.R.W.O.B. family believes in opening our arms and homes to the homeless, abandoned and unwanted dogs and cats of both Mexico and Southern California in order to offer whenever possible a safe house to these animals irrespective of age, sex, breed or size. Our rescued and fostered animals go through a period of quarantine which will last 3 weeks before they are placed into the adoption list in order to help us eliminate any transfer of disease between our rescued animals. Our rescues all receive veterinary care both south and north of the border, socialization and training in the hopes that they will be placed in a “forever” home. We are also focused on educating foster parents, adopters, school children and others especially in Baja, Mexico on the care, feeding and prevention of unwanted litters of both dogs and cats both pure or mix breeds.

<p>Thank you for your interest in these girls. Unfortunately their owner has to painfully give up the girls for financial reasons (moving with other family members who are not willing to have cats in their home). We are trying to help the owner find a loving home. They are healthy up to date on all medical, spayed, microchipped and registered. The adoption fee will be waived as long as the home check and family adopting them are a great match for them and show to be a stable loving family for them in order to protect them from having to go through this horrible situation again. If you are interested in fostering them until a home comes along or are interested in fostering to adopt for 1-2 weeks to make sure they are the a great match both for them and for you, please don

Help Maggie

Support us by helping pay for Maggie's surgery!

Maggie's surgery will be $2000. She has a torn ACL which needs to be operated on.

Maggie was relinquished by previous owners early October and while at her foster parents she was playing with another foster dog when she jumped and hurt her knee. She became acutely lame on the R Hindlimb and has remained nonweight bearing since.

Her physical exam was outstanding, except for the orhtopedic examination. She had already lost muscle mass on her right thigh.

After 2 weeks of cage rest and medications there was no improvement on Maggie's walk and she was still nonweight bearing and very uncomfortable, so we knew she needed surgery. Since she needed that cruciate repair, the group decided to improve her quality of life and avoid any other potential medical problems for her future adopters by repairing her bilateral luxated patellas (knees). Maggie is a champ and is doing extremely well. The vet believes she will probably need only 4 and not 6 weeks of recovery time, 48hrs after her surgery she is weight bearing in one leg and walking on her own just fine, of course she spends most of her days in a crate but when she goes out to potty she is very happy to walk about without anyone's help.
