Adoption Policy

Keep in mind that applying does not guarantee approval. We do approve applications in the order that we receive them. Thank you for considering dogs from the Guernsey County Dog Warden Dept., located in Cambridge, OH. Please note that we are not a no-kill shelter, and we must make tough decisions regarding animals who are ill or aggressive. **Adoption Fees: ** - $165 for dogs under 5 years old - $100 for dogs over 5 years old - $200 for cell dogs. Your adoption fee covers vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella), microchipping, heartworm and Lyme testing, rabies vaccination, spay/neuter, and a dog license. All dogs must be spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter; if this hasn't been done, we'll schedule an appointment for you. **Payment: ** We accept cash only-no checks, debit, or credit cards, please. For more information, feel free to reach out to us during office hours, Tuesday to Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Our public visitation hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 11 AM to 4 PM. If you're coming from out of town, give us a call at 740-432-2219 to make sure the dog is still here.
