(uptempo music) [onscreen text] Take a Bow. [onscreen action] Woman calling dog to her. [Narrator] Here's how to teach your dog to take a bow. First, take a tasty treat in your fist, to lure your dog. [onscreen action] Woman holds treat and moves hand towards ground, getting the dog to bow. [narrator] Next, lure your dog's nose down. Move your hand quickly toward the ground. As your down lowers his head say, "Take a bow." You'll want your dog's front legs to stretch out with his elbows touching the ground. Hold your hand down there for a second and then give him the treat. [narrator] Repeat this step three times, but each time try to wait a second or two before giving the treat, so your dog will hold the position longer. Now do the same hand motions without a treat in your lure hand, but reward your dog with a treat from your other hand. Repeat this a few times. [onscreen action] Woman standups up and bows, and dog bows. [narrator] Once your dog seems to get it, start to fade you cue. This time, don't bring your hand all the way to the floor. With each repetition, keep your hand a little higher than it was the time before, until you're able to stand up and give your cue by bowing at the waist. In just a short time, your dog can do this.
