(audience claps and cheers) [onscreen action] Man in a red chef’s apron stands in a kitchen behind the counter and wipes off a cutting board. Sophie the dog sits on a dog bed on a raised platform behind him. [onscreen text] Check with your veterinarian before changing your dog’s diet. [Lanny] Hello, and welcome to Cooking for Sophie. I'm your host Lanny Futere, and this is Sophie! (audience claps) [Lanny] You know, you're looking cuter than I've ever seen you. Are you ready for today's delicious entree? [onscreen action] Closeup of Sophie with talk bubble that reads, “Quit stalling let’s eat!!!” (audience laughs) [onscreen action] Back to Lanny standing behind the counter. [Lanny] Well okay then! (scoffs) We've got a great show. Today, I'm gonna show you how to make a delicious doggie omelet with yummy ingredients that your dog is just gonna love! (audience claps) [Lanny] Okay Soph, let's show them what they're gonna need. [onscreen text] Ingredients * 2 Eggs * 1 Chicken breast * ½ oz Baked ham * 1 oz Mixed vegetables * 1 oz Cheddar cheese * 1 oz Tofu Recipe provided by Dr. Roger Clemmons DVM, PhD, CVA, IRC [Lanny] Two eggs, one chicken breast, one half ounce of baked ham, one ounce of mixed vegetables, one ounce of cheddar cheese, and one ounce of tofu. All right Soph, let's start with the chicken! [onscreen action] Closeup of Sophie with talk bubble that reads, “Don’t burn it this time!” (audience laughs) (soothing music) [Lanny] Okay, let's go ahead and cook our chicken. [onscreen action] Lanny stands behind the kitchen counter and pours olive oil onto an electric griddle. [Lanny] We want it over medium-high heat with a little bit of olive oil. Now, we want it lightly brown on both sides, but most importantly, we want to be sure that it is cooked thoroughly. [onscreen action] Lanny uses tongs to place chicken on griddle. (meat sizzles) [Lanny] Listen to that! Okay, now while that is cooking, let's go chop our vegetables. I like to use carrots, mushrooms, and peas. [onscreen action] Closeup of Sophie with talk bubble that reads, “Whoa! Easy on the peas.” (audience laughs) [onscreen action] Lanny steps over to confront Sophie. [Lanny] But you like peas! [onscreen action] Lanny turns back to the camera. [Lanny] And folks, whatever you do, don't use tomatoes or onions, because they're not good for your dog. Another point. [onscreen action] Close up of Lanny chopping up mushrooms. [Lanny] Whatever you're slicing or dicing, always do it in small pieces, because it makes it easier for them to digest. [onscreen action] Lanny chops vegetables [Lanny] Ow, oh oh! (audience gasps) [Lanny] (laughs) Oh, I'm just kidding. [onscreen action] Closeup of Sophie with talk bubble that reads, “You’re goofy.” (audience sighs and laughs) [Lanny] Next is Sophie's favorite part, cheddar cheese. Now some folks like to chop their cheese into little pieces to keep it from melting completely. Me, I like to shred the cheese. (record scratches) [onscreen action] Closeup of Sophie with talk bubble that reads, “I just cut the cheese.” (audience laughs) [Lanny] Whew, Sophie! Ah! Okay, let's beat the two eggs. One... and two... [onscreen action] Lanny cracks eggs into bowl. And I like to add a little water. [onscreen action] Lanny pours a small amount of water into bowl. [Lanny] Just makes it go further okay? All right, neh-neh-neh-neh-neh! [onscreen action] Lanny whisks eggs. (audience laughs) [Lanny] Whoa, this is good! (laughs) [onscreen action] Closeup of Sophie with talk bubble that reads, “How embarrassing!” [Lanny] All right folks, now it's time to put this omelet together. As you can see, I already have my egg going really well here. I've already chopped my ham, my tofu, and my chicken. So now, let's add the ingredients. [onscreen action] Lanny sprinkles ingredients from prepared bowls onto the griddle. [Lanny] Okay, now you can be liberal with this. I don't want to overfeed her, you know. And now we're gonna go for the tofu. That really absorbs a lot of great flavor. And now the chicken. You know what, I would eat this (laughs). And the mushrooms! The peas. She loves peas. Carrots. You got your peas, you got your carrots. And then her favorite, folks. It's cheddar cheese time. Look at this! Whoo, whoo whoo whoo. (audience laughs) [Lanny] That is handsome. Now, here's the tricky part. I'm not good at this, so bear with me. I'm going to fold this... [onscreen action] Lanny uses a spatula to attempt to fold over the egg. (audience murmers) [Lanny] I told you I wasn't good at this! Oh! (audience laughs) [Lany] She'll never know the difference. She loves me folks, she'll never know the difference. There we go. We're gonna cook it for a few minutes on each side. Then we're gonna let it cool, and when we get back, we're gonna feed it to Sophie. [onscreen action] Fades to black, fades back in on a closeup of Lanny petting Sophie. [Lanny] She's my widdle girl, (audience laughs) [Lanny] she's my widdle girl, huh? Huh? [onscreen action] Lanny looks confused and surprised at the camera. [Lanny] We're back? Well why didn't somebody say something? All right folks! Here's the moment we've all been waiting for. It's time to serve Sophie her doggie omelet! Here we go! [onscreen action] Lanny puts a tray of the omelette in front of Sophie. (upbeat music) [Lanny] There you go girl. [onscreen action] Sophie vigorously eats the omelette. [Lanny] Aha! She loves it! (audience claps) [Lanny] And I knew she would! Whoa! Folks, I'd say that that was Sophielicious! [onscreen action] Closeup of Sophie eating with talk bubble that reads, “That’s Sophielicious!” [Lanny] Well, that does it for today's show. I'm your host Lanny Futere. We'll see you next time on Cooking for Sophie. (audience claps and cheers)
