Personality: Inquisitive, Friendly toward humans, Lazy, Cuddly, Chatty, Playful, Enjoys being held, Sweet
Favorite treats: Small pieces of fresh fruit (like banana and orange), pea flakes, and fresh hay.
Current Diet: Oxbow Essentials Adult Guinea Pig Food, Veggies, Leafy Greens, Western Timothy & Orchard Mix, Orchard Grass, Western Timothy Hay
Favorite toys and activities: Treat balls, burrowing into a fresh pile of hay, cozy beds to lie in, snuggling, naps and eating!
Potty trained: No
This animal’s daily routine: He typically gets pellets in the morning (half in the bowl and half in treat balls) and veggies in the evening.
BFF (Does this animal have or need a friend of the same species in their home?): Bonded with Doug
Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: He has been exposed to other guinea pigs and is curious but displays some dominant behaviors.
Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? He has not been exposed to children that we know of but is very sweet and patient.

Doug & Skeeter came to MNPPR when their previous owner could no longer afford proper care.
Other notes: Skeeter is very receptive to nose boops and gentle petting. He will allow you to reach into the cage to pet him without getting startled and happily squeaks and lays down when petting. Not a fan of being picked up but is one of the best snugglers once he's up! His foster reports "he is truly one of the sweetest, gentlest guinea pigs I've ever met!"
Skeeter appreciates the finer things in life, like fresh timothy hay (no matter how much he already has), sleeping in soft beds, and spending quality time with his cage mate Doug and his people. He happily comes up to say hello to people, and will let you pet him with very little fear or anxiety (especially if you have food)!
Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. This animal's foster parent prefers to meet at Petsmart— 1297 Promenade Pl #2a, Eagan, MN 55121 for meet & greets, & adoptions.
Doug & Skeeter have a combined adoption fee of $40
