Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.

Estimated birth date: 10/21/2018

Personality: Inquisitive, Friendly toward humans, Lazy, Mouthy (puts mouth on you but does not bite down, usually thinking your fingers are food)

Favorite treats: Strawberries

Favorite toys and activities: Scuttle likes riding around in a cuddle sack and smelling the environment around him.

Potty trained: We’re working on it!

This animal daily routine: Scuttle doesn’t have a daily routine yet!

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): Scuttle’s BFF’s are Sebastian and Flounder

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Exposed to dog, cats, parakeet with little to no reaction.

Health concerns: Frequent nose, eye porphyrin and some occasional sneezing.

Other notes: The brothers are given treats multiple times a day to become accustomed to nice human hands and they all take treats nicely but they will occasionally mistake a finger for a treat and grab hold of the finger to try to take it to the back of the cage. They are picked up using both hands firmly under them and fully supporting them.

Scuttle, Sebastian, & Flounder originally made their way to MNPPR from AHS after biting a staff member. They have since been adopted out and returned due to allergies.

Due to our rescue being foster based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Scuttle’s foster parent prefers to meet at the Maple Grove PetSmart - 11200 Fountains Dr, Maple Grove, MN 55369 & Plymouth PetSmart - 4190 Vinewood Ln N, Plymouth, MN 55442 for meet & greets, & adoptions.

All rats within MNPPR have tested negative for the Seoul virus before being placed up for adoption.
