Meet Ravioli
Hi, my name is RAVIOLI! Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Adventurous, Feisty, Active
-Can live with kids: Yes, respectful kids ages 14+. Adults must be my primary caregiver.
-Experienced hamster home: Ravioli is undersocialized and would benefit from an experienced adopter, though this is not mandatory. Do your research, please!
-Can live with other hamsters?: No - Dwarf hamsters should be housed separately.
-Bite History: No puncture bites, but like many hamsters, Ravioli will not hesitate to nip you if you reach for her in her cage. We recommend picking her up by coaxing her into an object or wearing gloves.
-Additional information: Ravioli is an active little hamster who loves to run around and explore in her hamster ball. She doesn't like it when people stick their hand directly into her cage and can be a little nippy, but with some prompting, she will crawl directly into her hamster ball so that she can go for a run! With consistent handling from an experienced adopter, she will likely become less nippy over time, but this reaction to handling makes her a poor match for families with younger children. Many enclosures available at pet stores are not appropriately sized for hamsters. Ideal enclosures aim for a minimum of 24 inches by 12 inches, and at least 12 inches tall, with several inches of clean bedding for burrowing - a VITAL activity for hamsters. If kept in an aquarium style enclosure, 40 gal minimum is ideal. Bigger is always better when you spend most of your time in a tank.
