Personality: Very shy (you are unable to touch this animal without it running away or being fearful, etc), Inquisitive, Friendly toward humans, Energetic, Mouthy (puts mouth on you but does not bite down, usually thinking your fingers are food), Very friendly and curious but does not like being petted or only when eating a treat

Favorite treats: Carrots, celery, cilantro

Favorite toys and activities: Running through cardboard tube, exploring new toys

Potty trained: No

This animal daily routine: A baby carrot in the morning and some fresh hay maybe a different veggie (or once in a while fruit) at lunch and some greens after dinner.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): Yes, Porkchop is bonded to Brodo!

Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? Porkchop has not been exposed to children.

Health concerns: None

Behavioral concerns: Porkchop is working on his comfort with being pet and having people reach into his cage.

Other notes: Very friendly and social, like to talk and is very curious. Just needs to be held more. He is also very nervous in new environments until they become familiar.

Porkchop found his way to MNPPR when his owner became allergic to his hay. Brodo made his way to MNPPR when his owners could not afford or maintain the urgent veterinary care that was needed.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Porkchop’s foster parent prefers to meet at the Eden Prairie PetSmart - 11200 Prairie Lakes Dr, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 for meet & greets, & adoptions..

Fee: Porkchop & Brodo have a combined adoption fee of $40

Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.
