Meet Petunia

Petunia - needs a foster home. She needs to be with one of the six ferrets she came in with. 7 years old, spayed, descented. She is blind.

For a foster home, the rescue pays for medical care as long as the ferret can be brought back to the rescue for that care. Otherwise, the rescue will pay toward the vet bill for treatment. The rescue vet normally charges $36 for an office visit with no tests or anything. So, the rescue would pay $36 toward the vet bill.

She has adrenal disease, which is very common in ferrets. It's not contagious and ferrets don't usually die from it, unless they don't receive treatment. She has received a melatonin implant as treatment. This lasts 4-6 months.

She has insulinoma (low blood glucose). She gets meds with would two times a day.
