Personality: Inquisitive, Friendly toward other animals, Energetic, Nervous, Norbert is very fast, very busy, and very bold, he is always looking to make a great escape, or dig a tunnel or pull off a kung foo move he is always on the go!

Favorite treats: sunflower seeds

Favorite toys and activities: Norbert likes tunnels and rearranging plastic tunnels, he enjoys running on his wheel and hopping around on his fort and he likes chewing on new stuff!

Potty trained: No

This animal’s daily routine: Norbert is used to seeing his foster in the mornings and evenings and has outside cage time in the afternoons/early evenings. Typically he will run around in his maze and look for ways to jump out or escape :) and/or spend time talking and bonding and trust training with his foster.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a friend of the same species in their home?): Yes Norbert & Huey are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Norbert has seen the birds and the cats and the dogs through the bin wall and he did not appear fearful, he approached the wall and sniffed out the cats and then ran away

Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? None

Health concerns: None

Behavioral concerns: Norbert is in our trust training program. His foster always talks softly with him, calling him by name, using treats to prompt him to come to her, she avoids picking him up or grabbing him for any reason, we use "transportation station" to get around, this is a critter trail cubby piece that she will prompt him to jump into and then move him from place to place, this is also how she gets his weight because he won't sit still and does not like to be held. she has been able to scoop him up with both hands and move him short distances and then he will jump down. He continues to be curious about his foster and wants to be approached.

Other notes: Norbert is very fast and curious and up for adventure and willing to go looking for it so he needs to be monitored closely and handled carefully if outside his cage for any reason or if the lid is off and he could possibly jump out.

Norbert & Huey came to MNPPR after being abandoned at a pet store who was unable to provide care.

Due to our rescue being foster based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Norbert’s foster parent prefers to meet at the Petsmart - 11200 Fountains Dr, Maple Grove, MN 55369 for meet & greets, & adoptions.
