Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.

Personality: Inquisitive, Friendly toward humans, Chatty, Playful, Energetic, Mouthy (puts mouth on you but does not bite down, usually thinking your fingers are food)

Favorite treats: Red bell peppers, dehydrated apple pieces, guinea pig pellets, vitamin C tab

Favorite toys and activities: Toilet paper tubes, packing paper, wooden chews

Potty trained: No

This animal daily routine: Not particularly, other than Vitamin C tab at breakfast and veggies at night.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): No, but currently being re-bonded to Luigi

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Guinea pig - chatters and chases

Health concerns: None

Behavioral concerns: Mario & Luigi are working on establishing their cage hierarchy still. We hope they sort things out soon and must be adopted together.

Other notes: Mario is a funny little guy! He goes into a popcorning spree after he gets veggies or treats. He loves to come up to you when you talk to him, and maybe give your fingers a small nibble. He wants to be part of all the fun going on; if you're laughing at the TV in the next room, he wheeks right along with you! Despite his friendly and outgoing personality, Mario still does not want to be picked up, but this is something we'll be working on so it is less stressful for him. Even so, he recovers quickly from any startling events and is right back to talking and coming to say hi to you!
