Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.

Personality: Inquisitive, Friendly toward humans, Cuddly, Chatty, Enjoys being held, Sweet

Favorite treats: blueberries, banana, sunflower seeds, yogurt, raspberries. Will take seeds from your fingers

Favorite toys and activities: Lapel likes to explore new places, likes his flannels to burrow under. Loves hiding under fleece, crawls on top of his play structures.

Potty trained: Does not use a litter box but only potties in cage

This animal's daily routine: Lapel starts moving around at about 11am and has a midday exercise. Likes being out in the evening, crawling around and cuddling in your hand, hiding in sleeves , snack in the evening usually.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): None, Lapel prefers to live on his own.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: small dog - no change in behavior

Other notes: He's very sweet and will take treats from you. He loves making little hideouts! He has really come around to humans, being held. Still a little shy at first but always comes out to see who it is.

Lapel found his way to MNPPR after his owner discovered he was a male and could not be housed with their female mice as originally anticipated.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Lapel’s foster parent prefers to meet at the PetSmart, 5640 Cedar Lake Rd S, Minneapolis, MN 55416 for meet & greets, & adoptions.
