Jingle Rat Rat Saint Paul, MN

Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.

Personality: Friendly toward humans, Friendly toward other animals, Energetic, Nervous, Sweet, Shy at first but readily opens up after a bit.

Favorite treats: Cheerios

Favorite toys and activities: Snuggling on top of cube hammocks with his brother & paper sacks.

Potty trained: No

This animal daily routine: Routine is pretty flexible with this group of rats, they do anticipate treats and head scratches in the evening as well as individual pouch cuddles with their foster to work on ease of handling.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): Yes! Jingle is bonded to Jacob & Heimer.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: They can see dogs, cats, & a gerbil from their living space but have not had any face to face contact.

Health concerns: None

Behavioral concerns: None

Other notes: These rats are still getting used to handling so a calm, patient approach is needed. They love hammocks, chew toys, cuddling and any snack you are willing to share. Being a large group, they do require a minimum cage space of a DCN cage otherwise they do bicker at one another which has greatly reduced after being moved to this larger space. They are still young so there is the occasional scuffle but saying their names is all it takes to break up the squabbles when they happen.

Jingle, Jacob, & Heimer made their way to MNPPR as a transfer all the way from TN where they were a part of a hoarding case.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Jingle’s foster parent prefers to meet at the PetSmart location in Rochester, MN - 3845 Marketplace Dr NW, Rochester, MN 55901 & 4603 Maine Ave SE #109, Rochester, MN 55904for meet & greets, & adoptions.
