Meet Hazelnut & Max
Hi, this is Hazelnut (aka Mr. Nut) & his buddy Max! Here is what would work best for them in their new home:
-Personality: Mr. Nut is timid & curious. Max is shy and curious. Both boys are active!
-Can Live With Kids: Yes, but an adult must be our primary caregiver. Not a good match for younger kids.
-Energy Level: Medium
-Can Live With Other Guinea Pigs: Yes - bonded pair and must go together! Mr. Nut was bullied by guinea pigs in his previous home, so any other guinea pig intros will need to be slow and supervised.
-Bite History: Yes, sometimes Mr. Nut bites/nibbles when he is hungry or is handled in a way that he does not appreciate (according to previous owner)..
-Additional Information: These boys will need a nice roomy cage/enclosure with daily exercise and socialization. Their diet should consist of unlimited grass hay, high quality guinea pig pellets, and fresh greens daily. They can also have the occasional treat (ie. pieces of guinea pig-safe veggies and fruits).
Hazelnut is a little bit shy and would benefit from some extra socialization. According to his previous owner, he can be a little sensitive to handling and gets somewhat overwhelmed after prolonged interaction. He prefers short bursts of interaction and is more inclined to interact if treats are involved. His previous owners also let us know that he has bitten in the past when being handled in a way that he didn't enjoy - for this reason, we don't think Mr. Nut is a good choice for a 'first guinea pig' or as a pet for a child. If you think any one of these wonderful piggies sound like a perfect match, please ask customer service and fill out an application!
