Meet Chocolate and Chip
Chocolate and Chip, were surrendered into our care, a few weeks back.
Their former guardian found herself overwhelmed, after multiple pregnancies and cavy babies, had to soon move out, and asked for immediate help. We were glad to step in, and provide the piggies with a safe place.
Before coming to us, the girls have never before seen a vet, had ingrown nails, curling around and pressing on their paws, unhealthy skin and fur, and have been fed inappropriate and identical foods daily. They were unsocialized, rarely held, afraid of human touch, and received almost no out-of-cage time.
It is safe to say, the best thing for these three girls was coming into our care.
Already seen by our vet, deemed din goo health, the lovely Chocolate and Chip are adjusting well to their foster home, and have begun their road to physical and mental rehabilitation. They are getting more confident, friendly, and chatty with each new day, and started enjoying being hand fed, and groomed by their kind and loving foster mom.
If you are interested in providing the girls with a forever home they deserve, if you have patience and persistence to help them on their way to feeling safe, loved and cared for, please reach out. Contact our adoption team at adopt@emptycagescollective.org, and see our website for cavy housing, diet and other info.
