Barista Degu Degu Saint Paul, MN

Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.

Estimated birth date: 10/23/20

Personality: Inquisitive, Chatty, Energetic, Nervous

Favorite treats: Oats, Gerber Baby Puffs, and Oxbow hay biscuits.

Favorite toys and activities: Barista loves chewing on all of her toys and hay hide outs! She also loves running on her wheel and snuggling up with her degu family when she’s tired.

Potty trained: No

This animal daily routine: Barista and her buddies are usually let out to free roam in the bathroom around 7 pm since this is usually when they start to get really active. Their food, water, and hay is replaced/refilled daily. Their foster parent usually spot cleans their cage every day and moves things around.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): Yes! Barista is bonded to Java, Crema, & Cappuccino

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Barista has been exposed to the large dog in the house and doesn’t really acknowledge him or seem to care.

Java & Crema found their way to MNPPR as a transfer from a hoarding case in South Dakota. Cappuccino & Barista were born in rescue after their parents transfer from a hoarding case in SD.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Barista’s foster parent prefers to meet at the Eagan PetSmart - 1297 Promenade Pl, Eagan, MN 55121 for meet & greets, & adoptions.
