Ananas Gerbil Gerbil Saint Paul, MN

Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.

Personality: Inquisitive, Friendly toward humans, Playful, Energetic, Nervous, Readily allows you to pick it up, Sweet

Favorite treats: Sunflower seeds and popcorn

Favorite toys and activities: Ananas is always excited to climb up to the tallest point he can. Ananas also loves rolling around in hay, chewing cardboard, running on his wheel, and moving his bedding around in his cage.

Potty trained: No

This animal daily routine: Ananas is a very go with the flow kind of guy. He is very flexible with his routine and doesn't mind when you make changes to his play time or interactions.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): No, Ananas prefers to live alone.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Dogs & Cats. No reaction, doesn't really seem to care about them. Only seen animals through his cage, never any face to face interaction. He will thump his feet if the cat is watching him but otherwise ignores them.

Health concerns: Ananas has some slight hair loss behind his ears that is being monitored by our vet.

Behavioral concerns: None

Other notes: Fun Fact: Ananas is the French word for pineapple! He is very fast on his feet and has legs made of springs, so quick motor skills are a must to keep him out of trouble. He is not a huge fan of saucer wheels so he will need a solid based upright one in his adoptive home.

Ananas found their way to MNPPR after being found on a hiking trail near Shakopee, MN.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Ananas’s foster parent prefers to meet at the Either PetSmart location in Rochester, MN - 3845 Marketplace Dr NW, Rochester, MN 55901 & 4603 Maine Ave SE #109, Rochester, MN 55904 for meet & greets, & adoptions.
