Meet Adorable Gerbil!

This young gerbil is super cute and adorable!

Gerbils are great pets! They are awake during the day, are social and active, and typically like being held. Gerbils can climb, love to tunnel and dig, and are naturally curious and looking for fun. We recommend looking up "gerbil enclosures" online for ideas on your setup. Including a hay rack, water bottle, litter box, fleece, and chew toys will make a happy space!

If you're interested in adopting, please email a photo of where you intend to keep the guinea pig to info@scituateanimalshelter.org. If you have a proper setup, we may waive the adoption fee. We recommend having at least two guinea pigs, because they can get quite lonely alone. You can also foster to make sure it's a good fit for your family prior to adopting. There is a $25 adoption fee, which includes the pig's toys, food, hay, items they came with, nail trim, and exam.
