Our Mission
We are a small home-based rescue group. In addition to our foster dogs, we all have families, jobs, and our own dogs.
Our rescue focus is on "quality" and not "quantity" - we are not in a rush to get our dogs adopted. We are looking for the best possible home for each dog, not just any “home!” We are very conscientious about matching the right dog with the right home. One size does not fit all!!
We can be trusted to disclose everything we know about the dog you are adopting, both positive and negative (should there be any). We can offer excellent references that will verify our level of responsibility towards our adopters.
We work closely with a behavioral counselor, an animal communicator and we use top notch veterinarians.
Once we put our hearts and hands on a dog, we dedicate our all to that dog. Every dog we bring into our rescue becomes our mission.
We are very selective about our adopters. We owe it to the dogs -- we will not apologize for loving them enough to want them to have the best.
Please don’t be offended if we cannot take every dog you find out there on the streets. But rest assured, the ones that we have taken in are getting our best, We want all of our rescue dogs to leave Hearts of Gold and enter their new homes in the very best condition possible – physically and mentally.

Adoption Policy
Our goal is to match you with a dog that is compatible with your family and lifestyle. Choices for a long-term animal companion should not be made based solely on looks. The temperament and energy level of the dog in question must be taken into consideration.
Other Dogs?
If you have another animal companion, you must take the extra effort required to match the personality of your resident dog with the personality of the dog you are wishing to adopt. This compatible match takes time and research – one size does not fit all; dogs have very individual needs and personalities.
Type of Dog for You?
Please consider your energy level, time constraints and space while considering adoption. If you do not have the time to train a puppy, consider an adult dog. If you live in an apartment or do not have a fenced yard, consider the time required to provide adequate exercise for your dog. In snowy, sunny and rainy weather, your dog will still need exercise. If you have never had a dog, consider fostering before making a commitment to adopt.
